Thinking about starting a corporation and Taking A "S" Election.

Sellers of corporations like law firms often form corporation without any client ordering such corporation. The corporation thus sits in inventory or on the shelf awaiting one to come along and purchase it. One must be careful that someone did not own it previously because they may have done some bad things with it and you might get the blame for those actions and be faced with having to prove where and when you acquired the corporation and of course the name of the corporation would then be severely tainted, so be careful who you buy from. Shelf corporations are most commonly found when dealing with offshore corporations. For offshore corporation info go here: http://www.panamalaw.org/bearer_share_corperation.html

I have a shelf company in Canada. What it is, is someone who already started a numbered company but didn’t see it through. All of the legal work has already been done, it just needed to be registered by my lawyer. I ended up paying less than $200 for the company, including registration. It’s merely an inexpensive way to purchase a numbered company, and all of the leg-work is done for you.
